Urgent! SGA Registration Form Return
At the start of this term all members received a purple registration form for 2018 which is important for all members participating in weekly classes to return. As yet we have not received everyones completed forms, please ensure you return your child’s completed registration form at the start of their next session. Many thanks 🙂
All SGA Recreational gymnasts will be assessed for their British Gymnastics Proficiency Awards on Thursday 22nd February, Saturday 24th February and Wednesday 28th February.
Please don’t worry if you child misses their session as we can test them the following week. If your child has attended a number of holiday camps in the last year as well as their usual class please forward a note with the awards they have passed.
Just to let you know that British Gymnastics are running an introductory coaching course at SGA on March 25th. The course is the first step in becoming a coach and is aimed at over 14’s right up to adults. If you or your child are interested in getting involved in gymnastics coaching, and learning a new skill this is a great first qualification.

A bit about the course:
Award Scheme Coaching: This qualification is based on our Proficiency Award Scheme. It is a great way to get started in coaching gymnastics or trampolining. You’ll learn fundamental skills and gain foundation knowledge. With this qualification you can help with coaching gymnastics within your club and support participants to develop core skills.
Who is this Aimed at:
Interested parents, teachers, nursery nurses, volunteers and older participants (14 years old at the start of the course).
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the course.
What To Expect:
An informative course based on a structured approach to skill and physical development.
Six hours- classroom and practical based.
Do I Need To Bring Participants:
No participants are required.
Do I Need To Find A Mentor:
No mentor is required.
What Resources Are Included:
Course specific resource pack.
£65 for British Gymnastics members and £100 for non BG members.
By the end of the course the learner will be able to:
• Assist with the teaching of skills and activities within the proficiency scheme
• Tailor the material to be suitable for the age group, provide stimulating sessions and essentially, make sessions FUN.

Holiday Camps are also ideal for gymnasts on the waiting list to experience gymnastics at SGA and also gives the coaches a chance to assess for suitable classes.
