Helping the gym sessions run smoothly!
Gymnasts using the Toilet!
To help the smooth running of the sessions please make sure your child goes to the toilet before their session commences. Gymnasts may use the toilet during class however this will be unsupervised as the coaches can not leave their groups unattended. If you do not want your child to go to the toilet on their own please make sure an adult stays in the waiting area while the session is in progress.
Reception!
Sorry if there is no one at the desk all the coaches are currently busy. Please leave any payments in the payment boxes in the waiting area. If you have any questions please write a note and contact in the note book or alternatively email info@scarboroughgymnastics.co.uk.
Many Thanks 🙂
Congratulations to all the SGA Gymnasts selected for the 2nd Phase of the Northern TeamGym Zonal Squad!
SGA would like to congratulate the following gymnasts for their successful selection for the 2nd Phase of the Northern TeamGym Squad.
Jo Pattison, Damien Quinton, Megan Coates, Brodie Aziz, Bethany Morley – Scarborough
Megan Coates – Whitby
Alice Morbey, Abbie Davison – Pickering
Phase 2 will require lots of additional training away at other venues which is a massive commitment for the gymnasts, coaches and families involved, but will be a fantastic experience. In May 2016 the Northern Teams will compete against the Southern Zonal team and all competitors will be ranked within the UK, the very best will form the very first GB Teamgym Squad. If any members of SGA are successful making it onto the team, they will represent Great Britain in the European Championships 2016!
Phase 1 has really inspired all the gymnasts, they are now training in preparation for Phase 2. We have seen lots of determination, enthusiasm, hard work and new skills been developed which is amazing. Keep up the hard work guys! 🙂

Brave Bobbie walks in memory of dad
Ten-year-old Bobbie Gracie asked if she could take part in the hospice fundraiser after spotting a roadside banner for the walk and realising it fell on what would have been her dad’s 55th birthday.
It will also be exactly a year since Kenneth Gracie, known to everyone as “Kat”, found out on his birthday that he was suffering from lung cancer.
After battling the illness for months, he was told he was terminally ill in April on the same day Bobbie’s mum, Heather Brown, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is currently undergoing treatment.
Bobbie, a pupil of Newby and Scalby School, said she wanted to take part in the walk to raise money for the hospice which had helped her dad.
“When I saw it was on his birthday, I really wanted to do it,” she said.
Bobbie has already shown incredible bravery by taking part in a national competition with Scarborough Gymnastics Academy just days after losing her dad. She helped her team secure second place.
Now she is preparing for another tough challenge, walking 6.5 miles well into the night to help the hospice. She will be walking with Dane Ramos, partner of her cousin, Rachel Clark.
Her mum said that taking part had been Bobbie’s own idea after losing her dad, a local builder.
“He was only in the hospice for two-and-a-half days but Saint Catherine’s was absolutely brilliant,” she said.
And she feels that Kat would have been so impressed by Bobbie’s bravery.
“He would have been so proud,” she said.
